Nuremberg 
The historic city of Nuremberg has the imperial castle in the north, the St. Sebald district further south between it and the river and the St. Lorenz district between the river and the railway station. The entire city was destroyed by air raids in 1945. During the reconstruction, the historic street network was preserved and the main monuments were carefully restored, but the original half-timbered and historic houses were replaced by modern buildings.
